Luke Schlake is an M.Phil student at the RAND School of Public Policy and an assistant policy researcher at RAND. He has a B.A in economics from the University of Kentucky.
Prior to joining RAND, he worked as junior analyst for Coastal Cloud, a Salesforce consulting company focused on cloud data solutions. He also has experience in both private and public sector economic development. While working as intern for the City of Oxford, Ohio, he rewrote city financial policies and drafted plans for economic growth. As an undergraduate, he was selected as a fellow with the Gaines Center for the Humanities, where his research focused on the intersection of rational choice theory and public policy. Previously, he conducted intelligence research for the Department of Homeland Security's Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center as well as the open-source research platform "The Prosecution Project."
His research interests include local economic development, poverty alleviation, city planning, financial regulation, and national security.
