Small UAS and Counter-UAS Training
ResearchPublished Apr 8, 2025
The authors identified options for the Army to field and employ small uncrewed aircraft systems (SUAS) at the division, BCT and battalion levels to enhance fire support capabilities. Expanded employment of uncrewed aircraft systems at scale brings implications across doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, facilities, and policy (DOTMLPF-P), including how the Army organizes and trains soldiers for SUAS operations as another combined arms tool. The authors also address training issues and counter-uncrewed aircraft systems (C-UAS) considerations.
