Wide Band Magnetic Tape Recorder

ResearchPublished 1957

A 1957 study of wide-band magnetic tape recorders, designed to contribute to the development of a magnetic tape device for recording and reproducing a 600-line television image without appreciable loss, with small space and weight requirements. The investigation suggests that further improvements be made in the existing Ampex commercial video tape recorder, and particularly in the recording heads.
