Postsecondary Education Research

RAND Education and Labor researches policy solutions that address student needs and funding challenges—and help ensure graduates are properly educated for the 21st-century workforce.

Higher education continues to evolve in ways that expand access for new student populations. At the same time, many students arrive unprepared for college-level work and often leave with debt. RAND Education and Labor has produced objective analyses of postsecondary education issues for several decades and continues to be at the forefront of research in this area.

Our analyses focus on college readiness and access, system-level planning, paying for higher education, STEM and career technical education, new technologies, competency-based education, and mental health.
