We examined trends in high-volume buprenorphine prescribers and the nature of their prescribing in 2009-2018 using national pharmacy claims. Results indicate that high-volume prescribers accounted for 80% of dispensed buprenorphine prescriptions.

In this cluster-RCT that included 640 surgeons, social norm-based email feedback sent to surgeons with postoperative opioid prescriptions above guideline-recommended amounts significantly reduced future guideline-discordant prescribing.
