Changes in Psychosocial Wellbeing Over a Five-Year Period in Two Predominantly Black Pittsburgh Neighbourhoods: A Comparison Between Gentrifying and Non-Gentrifying Census Tracts

This study explored connections between gentrification and psychosocial wellbeing in residents in two Pittsburgh neighborhoods. Those in gentrified tracts experienced smaller improvements in neighborhood social cohesion and neighborhood satisfaction.

A Preliminary Analysis of Stress Burden and Cognitive Function and Clinically-Adjudicated Cognitive Outcomes in Black American Adults

This study estimated the effect of an index of stress and psychological distress (i.e., stress burden) on cognitive function and clinically-adjudicated cognitive outcomes among older Black American adults and examined sleep as a mediator of effects.

Rising Waters, Hidden Threats: Exploring the Unseen Risks of Basement Flooding in Pittsburgh

Recurrent basement flooding is much more than a nuisance. It's costly to clean up, and it poses significant threats to public health and safety. It's time to stop thinking about wet basements as simply a nuisance, and understand their role in some of the critical health issues facing communities.
